This latest vendor post has me thinking...

These units (conventional frame style) have served the Park Avenue well for the most part. The first year is great usually, but by the second year, they need to be cleaned off before they are effective, and the passenger side streaks thanks to blade deformation caused by the wiper blade hanging off the edge of the windshield about an inch while parked.

This last round, I fitted Walmart Supertech specials on both the Regal and the Park Avenue. They have been complete crap since the day I put them on, and it's time for them to go.

For the cost of going another round with the known quantity, the Duralast Red Box units, I can order Trico NeoForms, and have them shipped to my house. These units appear to be Upbrand Beam style blades, but, I have no idea how they work, much less how the beam style even performs on our cars.

What does everyone use around here, what works, and what doesn't? What have you noticed, and what have you learned?

After trying many many brands. I have found that on my 94 Bonneville the best blade is the 22 inch Rain‑X Weatherbeater. Any other form of blade will leave streaks even if its brand new. I have tried rain x latitude and they are horrible on this type of car at 22 bucks a blade. I have gone to the extent of replacing wiper arms to see why every blade I install streaks, but the rain-x weatherbeater always works for me for 1.5 years and then after that it will start streaking on passenger side. However, these blades are getting harder and harder to find at autostores I have to buy mine at Menards

As long as they're the neo-form style (for front wipers), I don't give a crap what brand they are, they all perform and last about the same length of time. So whatever is the best buy.

For rear wipers, if the window has some curvature to it, I try to stick to the original metal frame style, otherwise the top portion of the sweep arc, the neo-form can't conform to for some reason.

I buy Trico Onyx (Most expensive) from Advance, and go till they're crap. Anywhere from 12-24 mos, depending on the weather. I think the wipers on the Yukon were put on in Oct 2015, and they still are going well, but the windshield needs replacing, so I'll probably replace them with that.

What I like about them is no stupid adapters to screw with or break off and scratch windshield.

I change once a year right around this time after winter is through.

I buy a good set by price and then I keep the frame and replace the rubber strip part...............lol I save 10bones per change....lol

Can you still buy wiper refills? I haven't seen them in forever...

Step one: Beam style blade.

Step two: when that dies, buy cheapest blades you can

Step three: snap the rubber squeegee out of the cheap blade and re-install in the beam style blade. And, that's how you refill blades these days...

If you strong-arm the Autozone employees, they will eventually admit that there is a stash of Anco refills in the back. Some stores may be out though, it was the kind of thing they weren't removing from stores, but weren't restocking either.

I am super picky, the only ones I haven't been disappointed with on my Bonnevilles were the RainX Latitudes. I find that other cars aren't so hard to shop for wipers on, the hook design is just superior for the job compared to the stupid post arm ones the 92-99 have. I can't stand the extra wobble and noise from the post setup.

I'm very pleased with my rain-x wiper blades.

Over here I have found Bosch wipers to be the best for all except my wife#s Peugeot.
For the Peugeot the only ones we found to be any good are oem from the dealer. Surprisingly, they are around the same price as quality aftermarket brands.
