That looks suspiciously like a Pontiac airbag...

Lol why don't you come down here, it's a great place to check for rain leaks!
So it is just a v6 but the price was right so we're happy, we mostly wanted the interior room for the little one.

The G8 is a nice car. I remember back to the Auto show before it was released. GM had it all roped off so you could only be teased by seeing from afar!

OK, just fyi to anyone who doesn't think a v6 g8 is a viable option. This car is a good successor to the Bonneville in terms of stock power, but it drives soooooo much better with the rwd and nice suspension. It's responsive and feels good on the butt dyno as well.

Nice score! Lots of room in that back seat, isn't there?
There are those that will pooh-pooh the V6 and profess V8 or no G8. I'm not gonna lie, GXP>GT>V6 when it comes to wet your pants performance, but the V6 in the G8 is no slouch and will serve you quite well I think. Even with a V6 it's still a nice looking, nice driving car. Yours probably cost much less than a comparable Caddy too.

Nice! It's probably quicker than an SSEi. As a DD, you don't necessarily need more.

Approve and automatic TOCOTM winner even though it is a V6 (I am one of those V8 or no dice folks, but...). We need to get back to having a string of Holden's up there.

Looks pretty good. A lot of people are getting G8's lately and it's really making me want one.

So far we love it, so it's a 2009 v6 with most of the gt options, leather, upgraded stereo, sunroof, etc. 105,000 miles on it. It has a few scratches and the lower air dam is damaged but nothing major. This Kia dealer had it on their lot since June and I managed to talk them down to $8300 for the car. Out the door I financed $9837 with fees and taxes and stuff. I don't intend to do too much to it but I'd like to get some HID'S and modernize the stereo features.(easier said than done according to my research)

I'm not up on prices much, but that sounds like a really good price for the car. - BC
EDIT: I did a little looking around the internet and I'd say it looks to me like you made a great deal! - BC

You may not care, but HIDs in these G8 lead to some less than spectacular results. Squirrel catchers make for a blinding experience for other drivers.
Jerry did a retro in his, not sure how much work that all turned out to be.

Hmm I'll have to take that into consideration, I was surprised to see several aftermarket options for front and rear lights on these.

This.
For the record, you pay to play with a V8. I got a great deal on mine, but it was a bit more than $9837. On the up side, I probably get to visit more nice gas stations than your V6 will.
And the V8 rumble from the Axleback exhaust - Priceless.

I plan to do a full cleanup and wax with some proper pictures this weekend. It's been so long since I had a car that I actually wanted to wax.

Ah, I recognized that airbag as soon as I opened the post. Congrats! I give the V6 owners endless amounts of *shoot*, but they're nice cars.
Any info on the timing chains? They're the only major issue the V6 G8 has, engine wise.
Otherwise it seems like the Android radio some people are importing from China shows some promise. The major issue with replacing the HU is that the HVAC controls go through it. Someone divised a little touchscreen to replace them (Folcik, or something like that) but I think they look *shoot*, etc. The Android radio has the HVAC in it, along with backup cam, nav, etc. If you're on Facebook, look up ACE Performance, there's both a group and a page. Adam Cooper is the one who runs it, and he's one of the go-to guys for G8 parts.

Yeah I found both of those solutions for the radio but neither are budget friendly currently. I do see that the car was regularly serviced but no info on timing chains, I'll have to gamble and hope it lasts til I can afford the $2000 or so to do it. I think it needs brakes soon as well. I'm hoping that everything is gm parts bin and not holden specific so that stuff is cheap.

Brakes aren't too bad. Not much is "parts bin", tbh.
