Hi, not sure how many Brits are on here, but just bough myself a 1979 Bonneville Brougham Coupe in Matt black.

She's a beaut and an awesome car, but needs a little bit of attention so I'll be asking a fair amount of advice. Probably a lot of stupid questions aswell... Haha. This is my third American vehicle and she's my daily drive. I need to source a drivers door. Immediate issues to resolve are wiring in a retro sound model 2 headunit and fixing the fans/air con

You're not wrong. I've already scared the hell out of a few people. Although, to be honest, most buildings will give way before that car does :)

Pretty cool to see a Bonne owner from across the pond, and a fairly classic one at that.

p-l-u-s-h...who cares with that interior, you'll be the most comfortable Brit waiting to get around. What's wrong with the drivers side door? The pics don't serve up much for clues with the black paint...

Hi Jimmy from a fellow Brit. Whereabouts are you?. Nice car btw, do you get to many shows?.
What issues do you have with wiring and the heating/AC?. We'll help you if we can.

Roger.

I may have smashed the drivers window after trying to fix it falling off the rails... Oops. Haha.

I'm Chelmsford, Essex and haven't had the car long so not go to many shows. Got a couple lined up, although the thermostat is sticking so waiting on a replacement to turn up.

As for the heating, nothing happens at all, literally nothing.

No fan?, no heat?, no cold air?, all of the above?.
That's three separate faults. No heat might be because the heater matrix was leaking and a po has bypassed it. No fan could be simply a fuse, or a bad fan, the fan should always be on with the engine running, the car was built that way. No cold air probably means the system has no gas in it.

A thermostat should be easy to get, Customville in Dagenham are normally good for parts, or US Automotive near Bedford.
If the door glass isn't shattered Rock Auto should have what you need, they sent the parts for an Oldsmobile with a similar problem quickly and at a fair price.

Roger.

Brilliant, I knew there was one in Dagenham but couldn't remember it for the life of me!
