F-Body brakes on 00+

Talk about modifications, or anything else associated with performance enhancements. Have a new idea for performance/reliability? Post it here. No idea is stupid! (please use Detailing and Appearance for cosmetic ideas)

F-Body brakes on 00+

Post by 98SSE »

I'm in need of some new front brakes and have a set of JY f-body brakes (Core obviously) in the garage. I was reading around on here the other day but didn't find anything definitive as to what is needed to exactly install these. On my 99' GTP I had to have the brackets tapped for the GP bolt and this is where my confusion is. Do I need to tap the bracket for the Bonneville bolt or is it the same thread and will bolt right up? Just wanted to clarify before I go diving in. If I have to order some banjo bolts and shims that's not a big deal to me. Thanks!

Post I was skimming through.

95NAsta has the writeup in his how-to for dropping the '92-'99 cars. You can either drill and tap or use a bushing in the hole to take up the gap.
