I just upgraded my factory alt cable and cable to battery. I noticed there was no fuse on either cable. Is this correct or was it removed before I got the car?

Hi, is there not a fusable link from the alt to starter? look near the starter.

Mines a 01 the alt wire went to the fuse box under the hood not the starter. It was a sold red wire, I looked for a link but didn't see one.

There is no in-line fuse on either cable. All the fuses are in both fuse boxes.

So theres no factory protection between alt and battery.

No. The alternator cable and starter cable are on their own harness and connect to the underhood fuse box. The underhood fuse box connects directly to the battery, no fuses inline.
