what i nice car, well its parked in my driveway but we cannot drive it yet. the guy i bought it from did me a HUGE favor and drove the car to my house before he took the plates off. i have to go to the DMV on monday to transfer plates from the 96 to the 99. this car is in really nice shape and for $4k is quite a car. the car looks and feels as new as a 1999 model year car can. it does have some cracking in the leather but that's about it. this car has ZERO rust, very clean. with 85K on the L36 the engine is a spring chicken, it has a reman GM trans, and every option with the exception of the supercharger. the car has a rebuilt air pump, new air shocks, new body mounts, newer upper intake, newer kuhmo tires, coolant tubes replaced with metal, new CV axles, ect. its just an overall nice car. i am really impressed at the adjustability of the front seats. when this car was new it must really have been inexpensive luxury because even today the SSE packaged cars are still luxurious i think.

couple things i was wondering about:
-it has the on/off switch in the trunk for the air ride pump. i was told this was to give you the ability to fill tires in an emergency. where is the hose? what do i use for a hose if one is not stored on the car somewhere
- gauge sweep, our 96 SE didnt do this. i was wondering what the purpose is? my wife started the car and thought something was wrong.

Congrats!!

Stickerprice on mine when new was around $34G... with ALL the bells & whistles... in '99 !!

Get some McGuire's Leather treatment to keep that leather supple.

Search Ebay for the Air Hose Kit... I had to do that when I got mine.

Gage sweep is normal... just to show that gages function properly.

Enjoy your new ride!

Didn't know you're on the club Andrew, glad you like it. The air fill hose you could always make your own and the sweep of the gauges are normal so no worries.

Congrats brother, yeah my 98 lss stickered at 33k in 98. I swapped bonnie 12 ways into mine awhile back I use Voodoo leather reconditioning stuff. I'll use a half a bottle per application I'm not stingy I'll goop it on let it soak for about 20min and buff it off. It really does the trick softening the leather up. And the l36 is a great engine just keep an eye on your overflow because of the gosh darn plastic upper intake plenums. They are terrible and start leaking into the lower intake and air ports into the cylinders. It's crazy. That and when it comes time to replace your lower intake manifold gaskets make sure you get the metal felpro kit and aluminum coolant elbows. Other than that and general water pumps and thermostats they are easy keepers! The plenum I've learned will go between 80-120k most of the time. And I just replaced my original lower gasket in mine with the motor at 250k. I'm on my original tranny still at 333k still shifting smooth as glass! Hope you love it brother they are great cars and always will be!

Thanks for the info! I replaced the upper intake manifold with the newer modified versions. Also did the LIM gaskets. Ported and polished the LIM based on info in this forum. I store it in the winter and only put a little over 1K miles on it in the summer. I have thought about selling it, but it is like a new car and prolly could only get 3 or 4 grand for it at the most. There are pics of it in the gallery. Thanks for the info on the leather conditioner.

Sweet deal brother, I don't know what I'd do if my Ole girl had that low of miles. She has 79k on her when I got her a decade ago. She is my daily and will continue to be until well...I don't know when! It's worth more to me than anyone else at over 300k I wish I could figure out how to upload pics on here or my profile but I simply can't figure it out.

Lets deal with your profile signature first.

If you want a pic of your car at the bottom of all your posts, you first need to upload that pic to a photo server via a program such as Photobucket or Flickr or any one of a dozen others. Once that pic has been uploaded, when you click on it to view it, you will see the pic's address on your browser address bar. It will be something like: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z65/ ... ontsIG.jpg. This Forum has a "Test" area where you can go to experiment. If it works in the Test area,

Go to Forum main page. On top right of page,
Click on User Control Panel. Then
Click on Profile. Then
Click on Edit Signature

Copy that address and then paste it into the blank area BUT just before the line you must type [img] and then [img] just after that line. Then you can also add any words that you may want to put in the signature to describe your car etc.
