I was following great write on found here to fix the air blend actutator. While removing it I had to dissconect the hvac prgrammer and disconnect the vaccum line connector. While pulling off the connector the nipples on the havac programmer ripped off. These are the soft ones. On the write up it suggested to switch out to the hard nipples since the are prone to collapse but No I dont know what to do because I can only find replacement of the havac programmer ac delco 16258362 which cost around $500. Does anyone have any advice. I feel like im worse off then when I started now. This is on a 1998 sse.

So I replaced the air mix actutator today and calibrated it as instructed by setting to 90 degrees and reattatching the arm for the blend doors new pisition. My question is I noticed the arm move when I set it initially set it to 90 but after I reattach the arm and chage setting to 60 it apears it doesnt move, however the vents do work properly now. While doing this job I also believe I may have fixed a collapsed nipple by bypassing the connector as well.So does the vacuum line have anything to do with the vents or does it sound like the actutator works properly considering the vents work now. Just not sure what the actual cause of the fix was. The ecc was also blinking after I did this, if tgat means anything.

If the ECC is blinking, you still have a code. Did you disconnect the battery during the work?
If the airmix does change position from defrost/vents/floor then it should be working correctly.

Yes I did disconnect the battery during install as well as the hvac programer which the actutator plugs into.the vents work as they should but I dont notice the arm moving while changing vents. My concern is that the ac blows hot even though the compressor spins as well as the clutch so I didnt know if the arm opened up the ac vent for cold air flow or sonething when set to ac.so I didnt know if that had something to do with it not blowing cold air.
