Bonnie LOST her whine...

So my L67 2003 SSEi is completely stock, and while the SC whine was never very loud it WAS audible. Now it's completely gone.
Boost guage still reads 8psi or so like usual, and it feels fine under boost, but the wonderful noise is gone
Thoughts anyone?

Have you checked the air filter?
Also, how long have you had the car, and did it go away suddenly, or fade away, and when?

Checked the air filter recently and it looked OK. I've had the car for about 3-4 months and it did seem to go away fairly quickly, but then again I rarely drive it in boost, just give it a little once in awhile when I'm in the mood.

There is more boost with cold dense air. Now that its warming up, the air is changing.

If you're looking for more whine you should get a fender well intake. It really unleashes the whine!

And the idle air control valve...

It's a love-hate relationship

A cone on the throttle body will do the same job for much less!
Unleash the whine. You'll never go back.

Thanks for the input guys. I figured the warmer air might have something to do with it but at the same time I just figured a sound that is created mechanically wouldn't drop off that much.
I've joked and toyed with slapping a cone on it like I had on my old 94 GTP but I've "grown up" a bit since those days and like the quiet engine/exhaust... until those few times I do nail it... like next to punk Honda drivers... and that is where the whine is most needed lol
Now, interesting point brought up about the IAC, unlike the SC, the IAC has actually been making MORE noise than usual on startup recently. I suppose the two could be related perhaps.

The IAC noise used to bother me when I drove around a lot in college in the city. Now I don't really notice it since I only drive to work and back now. I couldn't imagine driving my Regal without the whine now.
I know a lot of people that would rather hear supercharger whine than a turbo spool or BOV sounds so I like to make the most of it while I still have it.
