Ride Height Load Leveling Sensor

So...

My 2001 SSEi currently has the jacked up rear end thing going on.

From what I have gathered, since it will not go down, the problem is likely the leveling sensor has finally gone bad.

Before I replace it, are there any ways to get it to drop the rear again? I have let the air out of the compressor, hoping that it would correctly adjust when restarted, but no luck.

I did check the fuse for the air release and it was ok.

It would appear the tie rod piece between the two ball joints may be threaded. If so, can this be turned farther apart, so that the system (may) react by lowering the ride height, or do I just go ahead and get a replacement?

Please advise if I have the correct part number also, thanks:

Happy trails,

That is the proper GM part number for the sensor. I'd suggest contacting Andrew (Harofreak00) for a good used one, as a new one from GM runs close to $275.

To get the ride height down in the meantime, try pulling the ELC relay in the rear fuse box.

Ah, had not thought about the relay.

Thanks. Will try that and get a replacement.

Happy trails.
