Tuning an 05 Bonneville

I currently top swapped my 05 Bonneville SE. I just wanted to see if anyone else had and what they did for tuning. I have HP Tuner but with the 05 PCM their is no way to allow it to read boost, which has caused a couple problems. So has anyone ever done this and how did they get around the tuning problems. Thank You

You may have to flash the pcm with a tune from a different year. I'm sure one of our tuning experts will chime in with the specifics.

IIRC you have to add a couple pins to the PCM, and correct, you'll likely need an 03 SSEi tune with the files from your 05 trans copied over.

Boost isn't important though. Watch your timing, KR, and fuel trims.

Can also get an aftermarket boost gauge.

Could you get a 0-5v boost sensor and log it through the EGR sensor input? (assuming you've deleting the EGR)

by 2003 SSEi
you can use the L36 file however there are some limitations. The best thing would be to flash the car with a SC File, so you get the fueling about 105KPA.
I would use a 2003 SSEi file because that would have the best shot of working with the newer style trans

Since you have HPT, you can check out the tune repository on their website. Might be able to find a 2003+ L67 powered car, just keep in mind that you will need to change the trans settings/ratio.

Tune the Fuel, Timing and KR without boost settings. The MAF will be where you make your adjustments when boost is in. Even with SSEI ECU the MAP cant read boost it is a 1bar.. if you do change over to a SSEI tune (not needed) you also need a 2bar MAP (SSEI/GTP). I tuned my LQ1 Turbo Monte Carlo on a 1bar map and 1996 OBDII ECU via MAF calibrations, VE, AE and DE tables. Not sure a 05 will run on a 03SSEI ECU. you might be opening a can of worms trying to swap that over.
keep monitoring Knock, injector pulse and timing.. set those tables to stock L67 and work from there. Keep in mind your top swap is going to be higher compression so you cant make the timing advance as aggressive as a tuned L67, you will knock quicker.
