Just picked up a sweet 2001 SSEI,115,00 mi. love the car, except that darn vibration. I have spent hours going thru all the previous posts and still, after inspecting it at length still could use some advice from the guru's of the Bonneville. Vibration is at 55 and above, feel it thru the seat, not the strg wheel, replaced l f whl brg, no change, at hiway speed, if I turn wheel to the right slightly it goes away somewhat. I am going to change out the right bearing tonight. The bearing on the right rotates freely with no apparent play, tie rods tight, a arms tight. I have noticed a few things I could use some advice on.. The front wheels are balanced with the old style rim lip weights, the rears are balanced with stick ons near the center mass of the wheel, question being, due to the extreme offset would that make a difference? No one around here is familiar with the road force balance in the other posts. The tires are new, replaced rear air shocks, due to a clunking noise from the right rear, still there, did the whole jack and shake inspected all the bushings and links, all seem secure. Question being is the air compressor accessable without dropping the mufflers and exhaust? Could this be an internal transmission problem? Sorry if this seems like beating a dead horse, but this really takes the pleasure out of driving what otherwise is an awesome car.....

Try swapping your back wheels to the front and see if anything changes.
Clunking noise from the rear might be bad shock mounts, but that wouldn't make the car shake.
I know you mentioned you don't have road force balancing in you area, but it might be worth it to take a drive if you can find one within a reasonable distance. My car has had its tires road forced balanced since the very beginning and it's never developed the infamous 2000+ highway shake.... yet...

thought maybe clunk was compressor loose in mounts, wondered if it was accessable other than over exhaust, shock mounts removed and inspected, all good. Will check into balance and swap, hope it isn't internal trans... thanks

Solved!!!!! Finally found what was wrong... Got home the other day, smelled brakes, l r brake was smoking. Pulled apart, could not retract caliper, replaced, went to other side, caliper frozen on top mount, cleaned, lubed, inspected, and reassembled. all good... Put my hand on RR track bar, {to pull my fat as% along} and it moved, hit it with my hand and ball almost popped out of socket. Thought who was the genius that welded the end into the bar. Looked like a real pain to replace, loosened sub-frame came right out, not that bad. Replaced both track bars.. Test ride, awesome, smooth and vibration free. Awesome ride.. Seek, and ye shall find..... Engineered an old set of pliers to compress park brake cable spring, took like 20 seconds to get it back on....

Had tires road force balanced, no change, but an awesome machine, I'm hooked...
