Hello. A week ago i was driving and suddenly the rpm fluctuated, but no signs of missing. We turned it off when we got home then started right after and it had a really bad shake and would die off in a couple of secs. Next morning i started it and it ran fine. Drove for couple days and eveything thing seemed fine.
Few days later it shut off on me so I took it to the mechanic where it started but same bad shake came back. They told me do tune up. which was done just a year ago. We thought it was BS. we took the car out and it wont start at the mechanic shop. they tried everything for couple hrs. They said no spark was coming through. They then cleaned the crankshaft sensor and it turns on now but shake is there. They took like 4 hrs to figure it out i wanna confirm if thats whats causing it. They also said it may be timing chain thats slightly off but they will replace the sensor first to see.
They told me $250 for sensor including labor. Car has 241k im debating should i spend all the money or forget about the car.
Any help is appreciated. If you need more info let me know.
