Ok I found a couple Bonneville SLE's today...one is a wrecked 2000...he bought a doghouse and hood for it then found out it was structurally damaged...the 3.8 was still running good...so he bought a 2001 with a bad 3.8 (knocking)...they both have those fancy chrome wheels, sunroofs, and are from what he said loaded...so I am going to look at them Saturday...my thought is stick the good engine in the 2001 and flip it...then part out the rest of the 2000...I am pretty sure I can get them both for 1700.00...am I shooting myself in the foot here

Only if you don't fully inspect them and don't have the tools/ability/facilities to do what you're thinking. Parting a car out can go slow.
