question for you abs gurus,,,,

Post by 02 bonnie beast »

i have replaced both hubs in the front, and i have also replaced the brakes all the way around. and i still get a code from the abs that says that the left front hub is either open or shorted. i check the wheel speed sensors during operation of the car, and all four of them register, then when the code flashes, the sensor says zero mph. i know the hub is good, and the sensor is good as well as i have tested the continuity and ac voltage of it. everything is fine with it. i am leaning toward the wiring being bad, and was wondering if this seems to you all like a viable fix?

Perhaps it's just a piece of corroded wiring somewhere.

I had a Trac Control error on my o4 GXP and when I disconnected the EBCM wire harness connector and the ECM connectors and re-connected them, the code went away

I see this often at the dealership.
I have replaced the ABS harness, after locating a bad section.
Usually in an area where the wire is subjected to a lot of twisting motion while the car is being steered of suspension is moving up and down.

Use a multimeter and move the wire around until you can find the bad section in the wire.
You will see the gauge move when the bad spot is found.
