Looking to install new shocks and struts for my 03' and i'm just wondering what you guys are using as far as stock or anything aftermarket or what do you fellas prefer?? I know there's not much or any for aftermarket stuff but usually I use RockAuto. Right now they're offering the ACDelco quick strut and I suppose for the rears the load assist ACDelco's to match.
I guess Monroe pulled their quick-strut off RockAuto because the Bonneville isn't heavy enough to keep the front end down, so it's un-even..

I'm currently running the AC Delco quick struts in the front and the Sachs air shocks in the back of my 2004 SE. The nose still sits high after putting 20,000 miles on them. The only upside is that it give me a little more clearance for winter driving

I'd keep your stock springs, put on new struts, mounts, etc. Monroe Max-Air shocks in the back.

I agree to stay away from the quick struts. I'll be swapping them out on a friend's Bonneville. I've always used Monroe's, but after reading some people's complaints, I'll be trying the KYB this time. Those who have tried them seem to like them.

and experiencing the creaking and groaning that he mentioned with the bearings, I did some investigating for an after-market solution, I found that the Moog K160213 is basically the same thing, and I'll be using those.

I'm not impressed with Monroe. Maybe I just got a bad shock but I'll be changing those clunking turds for, I don't know, maybe KYBs. I've got 6 years and 33k miles on these and the right rear shock has clunked the whole time. The front struts are also Monroe (NOT quick struts) and they've been dandy. Lots of others seem to have good luck with Monroe shocks, but not me.

Delco would be my other choice, but after getting a Delco heater blower that said "Made in USA" on the box and "Made in Vietnam" on the actual part, I'm not so sold on Delco anymore.

I put KYBs on the rear right after I got my 2001 and have been quite happy with them so far. Of course, then I found a guy parting out a GXP and picked up the entire FE5 suspension package, so the KYBs were pretty much a waste of money. I'll have had them on for a total of maybe 3-4 months before I switch everything over...

I just picked up some KYB's as one stock shock is leaking at 118,000 miles. Noticed when getting 2 new tires to match the other 2 cooper cs4 I have that ride great.

What does the entire fe5 suspension consist of?

Front & rear swaybars, front & rear springs & struts, strut support bar, air compressor, lines & fittings.

I know you guys have mentioned to stay away from quick-struts but are Moog's anything like the Monroe quick-struts?
