HEATED SEAT QUESTION

Ok so i know there are many write ups on how to resolder the heated seat element. The broken wire fix. i suck at soldering. so my question is, what if i bought the universal heated seat pad that are meant for those without factory heated seats. they seem to operate the same as ours. they have a high and a low and off. They have three wires and a switch very similar to ours. I would then just "piggy back" or plug them directly into the factory switch.
Has anyone tried this? will it work?
I am pretty good with wiring so if i try it and it works, i will try to post a how-to with pics.
Thanks guys!

The soldering required to fix the broken heated seat is very easy and nothing difficult. Even with no prior soldering experience, you should be able to fix it.

I doubt the universal ones would work with the sophisticated system in the Bonneville. They probably wouldn't have the thermoresistors in them and would click on and off just like the broken ones. Just fix what you have. Cheaper and easier.

You're probably going to have way more headaches trying to make that work, versus just fixing the broken connections. The solder doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to work...
