Headlights Keep blowing HID Ballasts

I have a 2000 SSEi and i ran HID's on it for maybe 2 weeks. Now everytime I put a new ballast on it just blows the ballast and its not letting me run them anymore... Can anyone help? Sorry if there is already a post on it that I didn't see

Sounds like there could be short in the wiring or even in the bulb. How can you tell that the ballast is blown? What balast/bulbs are you using?

I have swapped out diff brand bulbs and ballasts. And when they dont work i plug my normal lighta backnon amd they work right away.

Are you using a relay harness? What brand are your bulbs and ballasts?

When i installed hid's into my car i found the lights would sparaticly work. After testing i relised that the ballast wiring was backwards compared to the car. So i just flipped the ballast plug iver and the lights worked fine ever since with the occcasional time of one light not turning on when i started the car. Which was an easy fix by unplugging then plugging the ballist back in. And since the plug wasnt clipped on due to it being backwards, this task was even easier.

I have hids in my car for some time now. unfortunately most hid kits are garbage so stick with a reputable brand or at least a company who stands behind their product. Either way their probably made in china anyway. other than that....i have a relay harness installed on my car which may or may not be required. but what is required is #1 make sure drls are disabled. that will ruin the ballasts. and make sure to install a headlight cranking delay relay. I forgot where i got it from, but if you search this site you will find instructions on how to make it. basically it uses the signal from the starter relay to cut power momentarily to the headlights so they have full power to start and reduces the shocks of the voltage fluctuation to the ballasts. that should take care of any ballast issues. I have that setup and have had the same ballasts for years. but even then the bulbs aftermarket in these kits dont last forever either. hope this helps you out.
