How can I disable my Daytime Running Lights?

I just bought a 1998 Bonneville. Great car except the DRL's. I prefer to decide when to switch my headlight on and off and not depend on a GM software engineer's preferences. Anyone here know how to disable the DRL's? I know there's and existing thread here on that subject but it's locked. Therein it was mentioned that pulling the fuse would accomplish what I want to do but, with the amazing number of fuses I've found, not one of them is identified as 'DRL'. There is no fuse panel inside the glove box that I could find and the one under the dash does not contain a fuse identified as 'DRL'.

Please don't bump old threads - this one is almost 3 years old. Also note that it's for a 2000+ Bonneville. Please continue in your existing thread, but feel free to link back to this one: 1992/topic41584.html"
I don't know what 'bump' means and, if there's continued interest in an existing thread, I don't see the problem in continuing to post to it but I'm not the moderator here so you bought the software and you pay the Internet bill so I guess you can be as anal retentive as you choose. See ya.

"Bump" means posting in a three-year-old thread, bringing it to the top again.
And a bad attitude is not the way to get replies to your questions.
Hope this helps.

Ill never understand this unwritten rule on "bumping" threads. Why does it bother someone so much? OMG you have to read an "old" thread...oh nooooooo, your life is going to end and you just read an old thread and not a NEW one. So funny

Bumping an old thread makes a mess of things. It is welcomed to read old threads, there are lots of threads with good information. However, unless you're the original poster and want to dredge that thread up from the past for some reason, you should instead reference that thread with a link, saying I read this thread, wondering about how to do X. That way I don't read through a whole thread and go, "gee, so-and-so had a question, oh wait, it was someone else, holy crap this thread is 4 years old." Happens every time...
If the OP decides to check back: I remember something about a white box near the driver's side headlight needing to be disconnected on that gen to disable the running lights.

Totally anal retentive in my opinion as mentioned before. I'll not waste any more of my time with this forum. As soon as I finger out how to unsubscribe, I will.

I'll bet.
Be so kind, Bobbie, as to tell me how to resign. I can't seem to finger it out.

Beats me. Your brighter posters would use the "search" button.

There is no ill will in the advice you were given... I don't know why you took it so badly. Pretty sure any forum you go on follows this policy to some extent.

IMHO, that was very nicely written. You agreed to the rules of the forum when you joined, so sorry you regret that decision once you're gone
Like I said, no one wants to re-read a thread they may or may not have commented on years ago. Making a new post is one more step than commenting on an old one, I don't see why it's such a big deal. Especially when your comment was added to a thread that wasn't compatible with your year of car.
Hint: you unsubscribe through your User Control Panel > Manage Subscriptions, under Overview on the left hand side tabs. Sorry you don't like our forum.

Thank you for your support, Mr. DCJRedLine.
Now, I'd like to take personal control of my headlights. Any suggestions?

Interesting that you can presume to speak for all the forum members.
Any thread is re-read every time anyone looks at it whether it is new or not. Your logic is convoluting upon itself like a mobius strip. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%B6bius_strip .

So then, you'd rather have 16 or so related threads in eight years than one thread in the same time period.

I was unable to find a thread for a Gray,1998 Bonneville with NH registration - sorry.

It's not the forum I don't like. It's you I don't like - but I think I'll now wait until you find me intolerable. I hope to find out how to disable my big brother automatic headlights first though.
