does anyone here, know how hard it is to install a pair of SSEI front seats with the buttons and such?

It wouldn't be any harder than tearing the whole interior out (seats, carpet, center console) like when fixing/hunting for leaks. You just have to go to a yard and pull the seats, the control panel from the center console and ALL associated wiring. I think there is a power point that is already wired in and it would just be plug and play AFAIK. Going to a junkyard should confirm this as you will be able to spot any wiring discrepancies. The only pisser is gonna be finding seats where the leather isn't all shot.

I've thought about doing this for my car but reusing the cloth covers instead. It would make more work, but we're only talking about pulling apart 4 seats to make 2 good ones. I don't really care for leather, plus the cloth in mine is still in really good condition.

Will the standard leather seat covers work on the AL7 seats? I've been looking for a nice set of tan '96-'99 AL7 seats to add to my car, but the leather is always trashed on the ones that turn up in the local wrecking yards.

The covers are different due to the bigger side bolsters on the AL7 as opposed to the standard seats (AL6)

The hardest part about pulling power seats is getting to all of the bolts. Take a booster box with you and hook it up to the battery terminals under the hood. It should give you enough juice to operate the seat controls so you can move the seats as needed to get to the front and rear bolts.
