hi i have been searching answer for my intermittent slow start sound. so far i have had no problems but starter sort of moans before car starts up.
i am afraid its going since battery is ok.

there is 2 main possibilities; Delco or mitsubishi,
my car is -91 built, without supercharger and apparently with 3.06 rear, with gran touring suspension if that matters...

which starter should i have? its 10F outside i dont dig crawler under the car in snow at my workplace- its my daily driver.

thank You for any answers!

From what I understand, all series 1s use the same starter. NA came with a direct drive unit, super charged usually has a gear reduced unit. Many have interchanged them without issue.

The Delco is likely correct. The Mitsubishi may just be another brand of the correct part. If you have the Mitsu part number, you can do a competitive cross reference on ACDelco.com to see if it matches.

thanks for answers. still wondering on that gear reduced thing;
what does that mean? Delco part with mitsubishi offset...???

according rockauto catalog- this is on example; "pure" delco is with 1.5KW.

ACDELCO Part # 3361441 {#19135295} Remanufactured 4 DOORS; MITSUBISHI Offset Gear Reduction 1.4 KW
