The finished system

This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

The finished system

Post by YoungBonne12 »

I ran across some extraordinarily good luck this past month and i thought you guys would enjoy this. As seen in my sig, my old system ran off of the stock amp was just not making me happy, and i didn't want to drop money in it and labor. so back to my good luck... being in the salvage business, my step-dad occasionally gets cars in that have had systems in them (some still intact, some torn apart). being that he knows nothing about audio equipment, the findings usually get passed down to me. So he called me in one day to check out a system in an 08 avenger and said whatever i found, i could keep. I got to looking at all of the stuff, and found the following:

Focal Component 6.5 w/ crossovers (looked these up to be $300 new)

Stinger Battery w/ isolator and 2ga wiring.
multiple runs of shielded RCA's and speaker wire.

So the day before i went off to college, i tore apart my whole system, disabled the monsoon amp, and ran everything off of my JL JX360/4. Changing to an aftermarket amp with these speakers, in addition to my W7 and pdx made a world of a difference. I began to hear mids that i never knew existed in songs. My only complaint is that the high's are not as strong as they were, but full range sound is much more clear. The battery addition helps the sub way more than my capacitor ever did. All in all, I am very happy with my current system and the sound. I get compliments all the time on it. Just thought i'd share with the Bonneville community!

The best thing I did was to completely gut and rewire my stock system. Sounds so amazing now! I don't have a sub that hits hard (and it's exactly what I wanted), but it provides the perfect bass, while the rest of the speakers put out the mids and highs.

I say good score on those Focal components!
