Horn honks when shiftng from park, and trunk randomly opens.

Its not always doing it, but ever since I've owned the car, randomly, the horn gives off a short toot when shifting to park. Another funny thing is the trunk will open when shifting from park. But the horn doesn't toot when the trunk opens. Both events are very random, and happen for short periods a year.

I could care less about the horn, maybe? It is embarrassing but better than the trunk issue. When the car has that fit, maybe once or twice a year, the trunk opens, so I have to put it back in park, get out, and close the trunk. When I shift out of park, I hear the trunk open again! This might do it a few times till it will stay closed. Once I had the wife hold the brake in gear so I could get out and close the trunk! :btruestory:

It won't do it now. Its reliable at times, but stupid gremlins plaque this car, LOL. It is a 93...... :dontknow:

Neutral + parking brake = not having to go into park to shut your trunk. I realize this doesnt fix anything, but it could save you some trouble next time

The horn and trunk are usually connected to the Remote Keyless Entry module, if so equipped. Might be a good place to start looking for obvious problems. also check ground busses, those can make things fiddley also.

The RKE module? I thought it might have something to do with with that. Too bad I didn't remove the one I could have had in a parts car the wife bought me. :)
I know I have been having some issues with the passlock key cylinder, means its only a matter of time before the cylinder gets wore out, and I am stuck! Will have to get the resistor wired in soon!

I could care less really, I need to get the tranny issue fixed. I just wondered if anyone had issues like this with their Bonnevilles?
