What parts do I need to install an aftermarket stereo?

I want to put a new aftermarket stereo in my 01 Bonneville. I'm clueless as to what parts I'm going to need but I do know that you need a special adapter to keep your door chimes working and onstar working. What are all of the different parts I'm going to need to install a new radio and keep everything functioning properly and do you guys recommend any adapters?

I know when i ordered a deck from crutchfield they included everything to install it for free.

I followed the tutorial mentioned above and everything worked out.
Here's my post, that will help you with the physical aspect of what is needed to be done in order to get a double din radio to work..
