Hey guys! its been a while since ive posted. possibly around January-ish unless im mistaken, but lately ive been doin a bit of work on the old girl. Started out with making a patch an knocking out some rust in the drivers side quarter panel then the whole project escalated. Im still amateur and its not completely finished but im going to post some pictures of the transformation so far and id be very happy if you guys shared with me your thoughts! thanks again!!

Looking good so far. Only quip I have is that the lower rocker should've been removed instead of taped off.

Thanks for the input man! And I wanted to take the rockers off both sides, but it was rusty and I was afraid that I was never going get it back on if it was too rusty under it ya know? So I just wen the last resort route

Thanks for all this guys! It's coming along great! I only have 2 hours a day to work on it and it's been like 4 days, so slowly but surely it's coming along! Should be done by Friday hopefully! Have to do some wet sanding, and some other touch ups with some icing then might have to re-prime. Then paint and clear-coat and hopefully be done by Friday!

Me too, minus the rear quarter, plus I'd like to repaint my trunk lid (contrary to the previous owner's belief is not a shelf) and my fenders (got a couple good nicks in them).


Is the method for fixing the hood taking a wire wheel the the bottom side of the front lip?

have more pictures! not gonna have a chance to work on it tomorrow but pray to god its done by friday because i am tired of getting a ride to and from work from my mom.. and i work all weekend!! :( i just want my bonnie back

And yes jFridge92 I got that, lucky you. Good old Pennsylvania is where this white stallion comes from. The home of the rust.. It's not good.. I hate that part about Pennsylvania.. But she's still chuggin!! Just turned over 152,xxx like last month.. Still strong as an ox! Wanna save up some cash and either sell it and buy a clean ssei or do an ssei swap. But only time will tell I guess! Thanks for the compliments! I'll be sure to upload the finished masterpiece!

I took the mule skinner to the bottom of it, it's a little softer on the metal but just rough enough to get the surface rust off. Then I put some rust-ilium on it to treat it and kill the rest of it, then took either 36grit or 80grit to it and hand sanded all of it again. The after then I smoothed it with some 350 I believe, got all the nipples off of it, and treated again where it was necessary. Bit more sanding then primed it up! Just all depends on the condition of your hood. Wasn't too difficult though, pretty easy. Just removed the latch, and chipped away with what I had to work with!

forgot about the actuall gas door. painted that so it would blend with the rest. all i did was scuff the clear off, scuffed the edges and colored it over top of old color. not too big of a deal. turned out fine


the hood midway through color (took alot of paint... im stil learning the methods of Painting efficiency.. that part definitely kicked my ass..)


drivers side midway through color, still needed one more thicker coat. but shes staring to come togeher!

this is the only pictures i had time to take with the CC on because time was of the essance)

thanks man! keep in touch! willl have the unwrapped full look tomorrow hopefully. depends on how well the blend turned out.. im kinda nervous because i tried blending over with 13 year old paint, and have nooo clue how its going to turn out since this is my first time ever doing complete body work including paint
