Hey every one! Have Had my 02 se for a year now. 3 months ago the head gasket blew due to radiatior cap being No good. From head gasket up I replaced everything! All new gaskets, plugs wires, and various vaccine lines. Well after everything I had a P0300. So I cleared it to see if it would go away. Now I have a very random miss , engine temp does not seem to matter and it's only at idle. No power loss. One day I could get in car and it idles fine the next it will idle very bad. Then I found out I needed iridium plugs. Went out and got some and it idles the same. Except this time I get a cylinder 6 missile. So my question is what else am I month looking at? I have heard about coils and ICM. how can I go about checking these before replacing everything?
Any help would be great!

hey you can try moving your coil to a different spot and see if the misfire follows the coil, if it does then you will need a new coil. if not then pull the plug and replace. also make sure the spark plug wire is properly connected, make sure the wire isnt touching any metal too.
If both coil and wire and plug are good you should try another ICM from a friend or you can take it in to be tested also.
hope this helps.
Let us know how it works out for you.

I'd pull the #6 plug to check for damage, mis-gap or contamination before moving on.
Auto word correct can be funny but it doesn't make your post easy to read.

More than likely it's a coil or plug #6

You should also be able to swap 4 and 6 wires at both ends, and see if the problem remains with the wire. IIRC, it is just long enough to perform a test.

One very important thing to check that most people don't think of is to make sure that your number 6 spark plug wire is routed well away from your O2 sensor wire. This has caused many mysterious misfires!
