My 2000 SLE

My name is Dan and I own a Bonneville.

Finally, thought it was time to post my Bonneville on the forum. The car has been in my family since my grandfather brought it home from the dealer. 13 NYC years later, she is still running. The only thing that is really wrong with her is that she has a good amount of scratches and nicks all around, but that is NYC parking for you. Typical gas door rust and hood herpes. (Although those two are being fixed this spring!) What can I say about this car? Does it have its problems? Yes. Are they at times a nuisance? Yes.
There is something about this car. I really can't explain it. I have pulled the tool chest out numerous times for this car, but that never really bothers me. Sometimes I get frustrated by the car when another thing goes wrong and feel like I have had enough, but when I walk away and look back at her the only thing I can do is smile and fall for her again. I love the fact that the car has such a uniquely beautiful styling that is unmatched by any car on the street. In a city where all I see for the most part are all Hondas, BMWs, Audis, and Toyotas; the Bonneville just sticks out. Rolls down the road like a force and just looks different from everything else. That feeling I get when I beat most of those previously mentioned cars off the line is just amazing. That look of "How did that boat just beat me?" never gets old.
I guess that what makes these cars unique. They do have a certain aspect of excitement behind them that keep us coming back for more. No matter how needy the car is for attention, I always am willing to give it.
I guess what I am trying to say is; that this car has that certain personality and it factor that makes it stand out among other cars and that to me makes the car worth every ounce of energy I have to put into it. My goal is to get this car to look like new one day and hit that 200k mark(currently 130k).

Enough babbling! Pics!
Most of them are from this summer when she got a good waxing.

Had to replace the badges when one of my SLE badges was ripped off by school! SSE badges were cheaper and I have actually grown fond of them

That is my Bonneville and one day she will be restored to brand new!

Nice car! Being in NYC, I'm shocked someone hasn't jacked it since it looks so good! - BC

Your paragraph at the beginning pretty much explains my car. Can't help but love it, even when I hate it.

Beautiful car, I love love love the color, with those wheels. Definitely a favorite combination of mine. (Just needs boost. :P )

A friend of mine and I do have a plan for this car in the future. Requiring a new motor with the goal of putting a turbo on it. Till then, it will be my quick and nimble daily driver... but one day.... oh baby

Not to say I couldn't do some mean things with an L36. I could build one hell of an N/A motor in all honesty. I just like whine. :P (It helps my license plates make sense.)

In fairness I wouldn't have not bought it if mine was an SLE. It would be hella different though.
