First, a note re: todays install of coolant elbows. I wanted to clean out the ports they flush into, but didnt have a tool readily available. What i made used an old piece of drill rod, along with a 1.5" ish wide x 8" long piece of sand paper or emery cloth. Run 3-4" of the tape along the non-abrasive side of the sand paper, wrapping it around the drill stock. Wind your sand paper around the drill, and you have a poorman's flap wheel. I used 150 grit, which might be a little rough for some, but you get the idea. Works best with a right angle drill. Its also the one on the right side.

Ok, now the question(s):
Right side inner CV boot is leaking grease. Its not torn, and i tightened the clamp (i have the crimp tool), but i believe the boot is just worn out. Car has 260,000 miles and i am wondering if i should 1) remove shaft, inspect, replace boot or 2) located good lower mile shaft and replace.

Second question: Has anyone used the aluminum coolant elbows succesfully? I have replaced (twice previously) w/the Dorman plastic version and am still getting prestone love dripping on the garage floor.

I have never used the aluminum but have read quite a few posts where members recommend the metal ones from GM, if I ever have to replace again I will go with those.
