Sway Bar Bushings

Okay so I looked long and far for sway bar bushings and if there are any recommended ones on the forum, can't really find a definitive answer. Went to a few auto parts stores and no one carries the bushings themselves. The have the endlink kits, but not the sway bar bushing.

My question is are there any brands that are recommended.

I will be putting in energy suspension end links soon and was thinking of going with the same brand, but I don't know which part number i need

What other brands are there?

Thanks for any input!

I have to stress the importance of the search option we have the forum. Narrowing down to the section and using key words will help you. For example, I used "sway bar energy" and selected 2000-2005 (other than GXP).

In this one Ken gives a very nice thought as to why there is so many different ends.

The first one addresses the end links, which is not what I am asking for. That link does nothing for me.

The second link offers energy suspension. Mind you, we have 30mm sway bars, and the only 30 mm energy suspension sway bar bushing is larger and apparently intended for gm trucks. I am looking for a clear answer on a part number that works, which I wasn't able to find using the search bar.

I also asked if there were any other brands, which search yielded no results.

Hence, my post.

You asked for what the correct numbers for the endlinks are and they are in the 2nd link.

Do you think that there is one specific for the car? There is not. Many parts that work on GM trucks are applicable to the Bonneville. Energy has subframe bushings that work on a s-10 that also work on the Bonneville.
We can't do everything for... take a little initiative.

If you read through both links, call a parts store, Google it or look on Rockauto you will get the answer to your question. There are other brands.

i made a typo. I needed a part number on the bushings. Not the links, I already got the links.

the only reason i posted today was because I spent all morning looking for the bushings with no luck.

I found moog brand, but if I am putting in energy suspension end links, I would like the sway bar bushings to be the same. Unless there are none.

The bushings for the swaybar mounts aren't tied to a specific application. I don't have the numbers off the top of my head but whatever diameter you need, look it up by that. The shackle and bushing will bolt right up in the front. For the rear, you'll need to make a plate to bolt to the subframe that will hold the swaybar mount because the energy one is a different design than the stock Bonneville unit.

Thanks for the heads up on the rear.

I ordered off the web the ES bushings for a 30mm bar. Will see how everything goes.

Now, time for the New York weather to get a little better so I get the chance to do this!

Okay so if anyone wants the part number for the sway bar bushings up front. here it is. Installed them today and they fit.

From my experience, auto parts stores don't carry these. so you will have to order online.

Energy Suspension Sway Bar Bushings 9-5171R

Also, if you do the endlinks...cut them. One was easy and was willing to be banged out, the other was just frozen stuck... cut away!

GM color codes the sway bars. If there is a white tag on the bar then it is a 30mm bar.

dz09x,

Thanks for the part number info. I was just in the process of getting ready to do this and you saved me from the same pain of trying to figure out what works.

Happy trails,

Keith

Bringing up an old post for reference to all - I'm getting ready to do mine which is a 30 mm bar. Plan to order Moog Part # K6671 which is their version of polyurethane (supposed to be anti-squeak). I'll give them a try to see how they work.
