pesky security light

I'm not too sure where I should have posted this, so it's here. When I left work tonight my 2000 sle started a little rough then when I look at the dash my security light is on. A little awhile later my guages shut off, like didn't read anything. They turned back on but light is still on, it has done it before but it was when I had problems with the key fob.
