I've only had the car a little over a year, but the moonroof had always seemed a little noisy when being popped up or sliding open & closed. Anyone else noticed this? I havn't come across any topics about anything related to this so I could just be worrying too much about my car, which I've been accused of a few times. Should the tracks be greased just like the door hinges? I know i've got WD-40, if there aren't any recommendations for something that would work better. Thanks guys!

[WD-40 or similar = NO.] Generally, first place to ask about which product to use for what purpose is your local Dealership (ask the oldest Parts guy 1st, then the Service Rep 2nd choice); just stop in.
Sliding/contacting parts made of rubber/synthetic rubber/plastic are 'usually' lubricated with a white lithium "soap" (basically a very heavy viscosity of lithium grease, such that the soap will not run-off or move from where it is applied); lithium soap is mentioned in many Factory Manuals of different Mfgs. *Your Owner's Manual (if any good) or Dealership guys may have different recommendations; follow them.

WD-40 is not grease. You'd want some form of actual grease in a spray can. WD-40 is great for water-proofing, but that's about it. I keep a can in my car to coat the wheelwells in the winter.
