2009 G8 GT

Yep, I bought one. With the LeSabre needing more work than I am able to perform at the moment (this does not mean I am getting rid of it), and the fact that I have the Bonneville's interior gutted and have not driven it in over a month, I decided to get something newer. My mom is getting very nervous with me driving her 2004 Buick Rainier (with 37,000 miles) back and forth to work every day. Trust me, I spent many hours going over what is out there, my finances, and what I could, in reality, afford, and this is what I came upon.

I have very little going on in my life other than work, some gaming, and fixing my cars, so I was able to save up a little for a down payment. I was told not to by many, many people, but I've wanted one of these since the day I first found out they were bringing these cars to the US. You only live once, and with the loss of our father in 2008 and with my brother suddenly losing his fiance (she was almost 23) back in July, I realized if I could afford it, thinking about one and hesitating to buy one was not going to get me anywhere. Life is just too dang short.

Here's the only 2 good pics I have so far:

White Hot paint and Onyx interior, and it includes the optional Sports package (I love those wheels). I don't get home from work until after dark, so I won't be able to get any good stuff til this weekend. The exterior is in great shape - just a small dent and chip on the lower rear bumper. The inside is in good condition, but the back passenger area is a little scuffed because the previous owner used to take his dog for a ride in it. It's currently parked at a friend's place, and unfortunately I have not got to drive it much, yet (I'm keeping a secret from many people at the moment).

The white ones are so hard to find and obtain, I had 3 picked out sell from under me right before my scheduled test drives. Those were all '08's, and this was the only white '09 within 100 miles. This one almost sold, as there were 2 couples that test drove it before I got to the dealership, and another couple scheduled for a test drive after my appointment.

In case anyone is wondering - the car is all stock for the moment, except for what I believe is 35% tint all the way around.

And if he happens to come across this post, I apologize, Jerry, I love the white G8's as well, saw this one, and I jumped on it.

I will add more pictures once I get the chance. Also, the Bonneville is still top priority (The LeSabre & Bonneville Project), it's just I ran into a small road bump, but I plan to get a lot of things squared away this weekend (I am missing that S/C whine).

I can't wait til the weekend so I can get back into it and drive it around for awhile.

Gotta get what I can out of it now, because winter is fast approaching, and this car is going into storage.

I'd drive it tonight (as I'm getting off work early), but I need the time to start tracking down some electrical gremlins in the Bonneville.

insta-jealous. 2009, White Hot, 19's and the black interior without the red inserts, exactly how I want it!

Awesome car - congrats! Love those G8's GT's with the 19's - such sweet looking cars, and few enough made, you won't pass yourself every day. Maybe someday....

Thanks guys! I have only seen 3 other G8's in town. There is a white V6 model on a used car lot (looking at that one is what actually helped me go for it), a red G8 (do no know if it is a V6 or V8) that I have not seen in some time, and what I believe to be a black G8 GT, which again, I have not seen in a while. There's more new Camaro's than G8's in my town.

The only mods I have been thinking about are a CAI and possibly some kind of exhaust. I have been finding out very quickly that mod parts for these cars/engine are much, much higher in price than the 3800 world. So, those probably won't be happening until at least spring.

Carl, I still love my Bonneville, even with its issues, but with some of the problems I've been seeing some 3800's having lately, this is my way out of having to mod my Bonneville, to hopefully keep it from exploding (it still has a KR issue that I been unable to track down, which makes me think it's something internal). This car is kind of like a backup policy in case something happens with the Bonneville (which once I get the interior done, will become my daily driver again).

My insurance, with All State, is $65 a month for full coverage. With full coverage on both Pontiac's, and liability on the Buick, my 6 month premium has gotten kind of high. But with winter coming, I'm going to put the car in storage and just keep comprehensive, which should save me a few bucks for a few months.

And, Jerry, unfortunately, this one does not have the red inserts on the interior. Those are very hard to come by, but it does have the 19" inch wheels, metallic sports pedals, and the sport steering wheel.

By the way, the Stealth mode for the dash lights is really freaking cool (turns all interior lights off except for the speedo and DIC).
