Life Changes for Aveline.... And me!

Well where to start. I've recently started College at Triton and have been commuting there everyday with a close friend. So for awhile the 94 has been sitting. As it's much cheaper to throw my friend $30 every other week for him to drive his Civic back and forth. But as with anything, things change quickly. I am now changing my major and going to a closer school that I'll be driving everyday starting second semester. But it's not that simple. Because my job at Bed Bath and Beyond was just enough to cover bills. I didn't even have enough for gas. So after some searching, Aveline and I found a little something to as a second job...

Yepp, we're delivering pizzas. Excuse her dirtiness. But the first 2 weeks have went extremely well. Thanks to Eco oriented driving I'm pulling off some amazing MPG which has why it's been so profitable. (That and I must say I'm getting paid well above a regular delivery driver's wage.) But because of this I know have a small surplus in cash to finally getting some stuff done on her. Maintenance is a must first of course. Next week she'll be getting new front brakes, and oil change, coolant flush, and parking brake adjuster. As well as winter tires and rims are almost ready to go on. I'll have pictures of where I'm at soon on the other stuff. But basically her interior is apart and expecting a full overhaul. Rust repair is also on the list. I'll have to do similar as to what was done on Matt Strike's 92-95. That's about it for the moment.

But to be completely honest after having the Caprice gone now, I am missing the rwd aspect of the vehicle. And as I have posted on here before, my friends are quite active in the local Chicago Area 240 Community. And i do believe it's time for me as well... With school, books, and other important stuff taken care of.... And also based on budgets and plans I'm shooting for picking one of these up for around the $1500 price range by spring.

(Generic Photo from NICO Above) I don't expect mine to look this good. Lol. :btruestory:

For once, everything is going well and on track finally :bwoohoo:

Glad things are shaping up for you! Glad to hear your getting caught up on the Maintenance on the SSEi and treating her a bit! I still think you should throw the extra $$ into your Bonny and not buy a ricer...just my opinion though! haha

Thanks Eric! And it is nice finally being able to get caught up little by little. As for the ricer, it's something I've wanted for so long. Now that I got the SSEi, gotta hit up my next dream. Besides, I'll keep the stock KA-24DE in it, so gas mileage will be a nice incentive as well.

Those 240s are pretty nice. Just don't expect much power if you're gonna keep it close to stock.

I'm not a fan of rice, but I wouldn't mind a high-power RWD vehicle. Of course I'd probably have to build one from scratch but that doesn't scare me.

It's always nice to be ahead of the bills :beerchug:

Not all ricers are scoff worthy guys! Haha. And Ryan, congrats on the extra job! I'm looking for a small gig now too. School has me time locked most of the time.

A 240 convertible!

Being a truck motor, the 2.4L KA24DE actually has some grunt and a decent torque curve, I always enjoyed driving my mom's 1998 Altima for that reason. Excellent city driver and returns pretty decent mileage to boot!

I think the definition of rice is stock engines with 4" exhaust tips and more vinyl than original paint, body kits and a 16 second 1/4 mile.

I'd drive an LS1 RX-7. But mostly because the RX-7 crowd would consider it a sin. Seriously, google 'chevy 350 rx-7'.

Ahhh! I thought you guys meant anything Japanese by ricer. And I believe ya Matt! But those rotaries are cool motors. Plus I've personally been in a LS2 powered Honda S2000.

*EDIT* Your description of ricer defines Penny quite well except for vinyls... :helpsmilie: LMAO

That, and Penny doesn't have a race wing bigger than the trunk lid.

Not yet! :bhuh: :joke:

I support and will help with the 1JZ swap Ryan. Stock 240's need more low and less slow.
