It's Time. (Projector Retrofit #3)

Yup, the time is upon us. My new Bu is about to go under the knife and get a new set of projectorators. I have ordered a second set of headlights to retrofit so I don't have to mess with my stock ones, and so I can return the car to stock easily should the need arise.
The setup will be as follows:
Hella E55 bixenon projectors w/Hella E55 shrouds (assuming they are in good shape)
Philips 85122 bulbs
Morimoto 35W ballasts
3" ZKW clear lens upgrade
TRS H11 Harness
This is the car it will be going in, if you haven't seen it already:
I decided to go with the Hella E55 as I have come to prefer the German style of projectors in the HID equipped cars I have experienced; that is to say, they sacrifice some width in exchange for greater intensity in the beam pattern and throw...best suited for autobahn style driving. Plus, it is at heart a German car so it ought to have German projectors. I'm expecting output like this:
(One projector)
I don't plan on hooking up the bixenon solenoids. Reason being that my stock H9 high beams are the brightest I've personally come across, and brighter than any 35W bixenon setup. This will keep me from having to cut into my factory wiring at all...a huge plus for me. Only modification I will need to make to the car is to disable the DRLs which operate through the low beam, a simple matter of pulling a fuse.
Stuff is due to start arriving next week...

Woo! I'm excited! The newer bodystyle Bu's really need these anyway...

Ooh, shiny! Should work very nicely. Nice OEM grade stuff, too.
H9's are nuts, 2100 lumens or something nutty like that. Shame about the lifespan, though.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to this as well! Already going through the planning stage and I can tell there's going to be a LOT of cutting involved, but I believe I can pull it off. The way I see it, I already pretty much did the impossible by fitting projectors in my truck's tiny headlight housing, this should be a walk in the park by comparison...

It really is. 180 hours is pretty shabby if they see any kind of real use. I may throw in a new set of H9's while I'm in there.
