I would check crutchfield or another audio dealer for what you might want, then check out eBay to see if they have the item for a better price. :beerchug:

I have a 220w alpine I'd sell for cheap. Had it in my Grand Prix to power the 6x9 Rockfords, really woke them up!

So you can just run an amp to 6x9 speakers? I didnt know. So like a 2 channel would work to run a pair of 6x9s?

Yes, you can run an amp to any speakers in your car not just subs. You just need to match ohms and watts. also i know my local audio shop usually has pretty good clearance items, used or damaged packaging what not.

Amplify your door speakers, or the 6x9's will blow them away. It might be more work to run the wires, but you're gonna love it.

Well, I could amplify all 4 speakers. That would be a 4 channel amp right? each channel is for a seperate output right? I hate taking the door panels off though. Its a pain.

Yes that would be a 4 channel, like the one I linked you. If you do it right, you'll only have to remove them once. You're not really doing much in there anyways. It's a pain I agree, but a pain that's worthwhile. The Polks I have in my front doors sounded amazing running off just head unit power, but running them through an amp really woke them up. The highs and mids are much clearer, and the bass will shake my door mirrors, which it never did before.

:btruestory: Of course you could run 2 separate amps but a 4 channel would be much more efficient. Definitely amp the door speakers too, otherwise all you will hear is the rear deck. Made that mistake once and had to run wire again because I couldn't even tell if the door speakers were working.

Yeah, I hear you. It is actually a very reasonable and logical story and I should follow it but I am bidding on a DUAL XAF340 2-channel at $15.50 right now.

I will suggest that you shy away from cheaper brands. Dual included...

Save up for a little so you can buy a new amp. Always good to play it safe with electronics.

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing that. I just realized most of the "affordable" ebay stuff is junk. I am going to buy new. What is your input on a Dual xpe 2700? Many have told be to stay clear, but they do have good reviews of 4 to 5 stars and are relatively inexpensive.

Although, with that Hitron amp you have, it is pretty impressive for price and output. 4 channels, 50w rms per channel and only $50. Do you have it hooked to all 4 speakers in your car?
