My air conditioning has a problem it was blowing 1/2 cold and warm driver side took it to a shop they told me i needed 1300 worth of repair to the system so i am going at it myself. Before i took it to the shop the system had pressure now it has none also my trusty socket told me it Was loose. I inspected the system completely and discovered that it has a leak behind the compressor there is dye everywhere the hoses have no leak. so process of elimination the compressor has some seals or rings or a gasket to seal the pressure in. Any one have any idea what are the sizes for those or what they are called? Or can anyone share pictures of what they look like. On a separate note the compressor works fine no squealing or chirping when you add the refrigerant it engages till all the pressure runs out. Any input would be fantastic

Possibilities are:
- Seals where the refrigerant lines bolt on
- Could have been overcharged and puked out the pressure relief
- Leaking from the front shaft seal
- Leaking from the main body o-ring where the 2 halves of the main casing join (my most recent failure)

Find out which of the above by:
1. wipe oil/dye off compressor
2. do a quick temporary re-charge
3. check frequently to see which location the dye originates.

Afterwards, check your orifice tube for signs of black death.
I had a compressor that only lost the seal on one cylinder. It would work ok on moderate days but not hot days. The pieces showed up in orifice tube.

the AC seals are pretty universal, any parts store should stock them.. worse case remove them and match them up to what they have in stock. with it blowing 1/2 cold means your low on freon... which means a leak. repalce the seals and recharge the system.

Problem solved it was the hose that came from the back of the Compressor replaced the hose thanks to Harofreak and replaced seals and the filter back to cold just in time for cold weather !!
