Hi Folks,
Been a while, eh?
For those of you familiar with the Rush song, Red Barachetta you might enjoy this.
...Down in his barn, my friend stored for me an old machine, for several odd years. To keep it as new has been his dearest dream.
I strip away the old debris, that hides a shining car...
A brilliant red Bonnechetta from a better vanished time...
Fired up the willing engine responding with a roar. Tires spitting gravel I commit my weekly crime...
So what we have here is a '93SSEi, same as my beloved green one I sadly sold nearly two years ago. Truth be told this was the car I was going to buy when I was originally looking for one. The owner has finally decided to part with it. It has literally been sitting for ages, only driven every other week or so up and down the road. It has been sitting under a cover in his garage or in his yard. How much did I pay? $0.00. He has lost interest in it and is familiar with how I babied my green one so my friend gave it to me to look after. It needs a good tune up, alternator change, fix the headliner, reconnect the sunroof drain tubes and a good clean up. Pretty cool! Once I tune it all up he will decide whether or not if he wants it back. If he does he will pay me for my time and off it goes. If he does not want it he may have me sell it and split the proceeds with him, otherwise he will give it to me. I figured with either three option I could not lose!
It has some crazy performance muffler on it because it has a very cool, low exhaust rumble. It sounds pretty awesome. I have to get it to the point where it passes an emissions test before its fate is discovered. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Adam

LOL, yes Will. Didn't pay a dime. Had it towed home today using my Auto Club membership. I drove it from my street into the driveway. It smells and drives like a car that hasn't been driven in a long time.

KM? To be honest I don't know. I was so excited about driving it into my driveway I didn't even think to look. I think Nick told me it is in the 180,000km range, that's about 112,000km for our US friends.
This thing is nearly mint. It was dirty when it was first dropped off. I gave it a quick wash before snapping the photos with my Mr. Clean Auto Dry. Some light scratches have been found in the paint from him having a tarp on it when he couldn't figure out how the sunroof was leaking.
It has new:
Struts, brakes, tires, fuel tank, fuel pump, sending unit, brake lines, ball joints, tie rods and the Supercharger was rebuilt a few years ago. He has not driven it much since the S/C was rebuilt.

Thanks all. This car really is in stunning condition. It has its issues, but nothing too major. Alternator replacement is first on the list as I am only getting 11V @ idle. No problem, I am still in touch with the guy who bought my green car and he is willing to get rid of many of the spare parts I included with the sale for this project. I think if it somehow fails the e-test the current owner of this car will lose more interest and its as good as mine

I am really glad for both of you. I think the two of you will love each others company. I know if it happened to me, I would! Hope you get to keep the car. It would be a shame if you didn't. - BC

LOL. Bill might be a bit right though. It seems like an on again / off again relationship. Right now it's on!
I'll keep this thread updated with the progress made of the work being done.

Sad update. It's gone!
I did a lot of work to it including fixing up the headliner, fixing up the sunroof drain tubes, drilling drain holes and tinting the tails, new cat. converter, new manifold downpipe not to mention a good scrubbing. It ran awesome. So nicely the owner wanted to keep it so he paid me for all the parts and my labor and picked it up yesterday. He said I might end up with it after all, but he wants to have some fun driving it first.
It was fun for me to have for a little while, and a blast to drive around in. Maybe I shouldn't have made it drive so nicely and he would have given up?
