Mini meets are great! Little more personal then the large meets and many times makes for easier wrenching time!
Looking good so far

He just left with a nice running series 1 L67. It was a little dirty in the lifter valley and on the rods so I recommend he add some seafoam when doing the oil change in a couple weeks.
We had the SC off and was debating on doing the water pump and LIM gaskets. The water pump was making a squeaking noise when turned by hand. We then decided to do the water pump and I let him know it was only a few more bolts to do the LIM gaskets. They were showing a little deterioration, but not real bad.
Today's list of items accomplished:
SC coupler replaced
LIM gaskets replaced
rear valve cover gasket replaced
water pump replaced
spark plugs and wires replaced
The car sounded good as he left and he was upset because I would not let him pay me. He told his wife he would be home around 5......................he left a little after 8, but here is what it looked like when we finished.

My final thoughts:
Since I worked last night and still up, it is time for a shower and off to bed.

Matt,
Once again I am extremely gratetful for you spending your day off and working hands on with me. It became a less intimidating project be able to have your support, and there was lot's to be learned. For not being someone that works on car's I sure did enjoy the time and had great company. I just find it absolutely fantastic that there are great people in the world that will take there time and help one another like this. Thank you once again for the help and letting me take part in the forum.
BTW....If you hold that beer up to the light...I think it's a bit DARK !!!! LOL

I would do anything to have a friend like that who lives close-by.

Now you need to come back someday and we will pull off those exhaust manifolds and weld them up. Or you could find a set at the JY and drop them off and I will weld them and then we can take another day to install them.
I am sure we can find other reasons to meet up and turn a wrench.

Ready for the next challenge. I will find a set at the junkyard. That will let me know the difficulty level of taking them off.

It is not that bad, just plan on new hardware when changing them out.
