Hello all I'm happy to say that I've figured out my RPM issues with my 1993 SE but now come a new problem. Now keep in mind I haven't move my car in a little over 2 weeks because of RPM issue but it has rained a few times during that period of time but when I went to car today I noticed 2 things. 1 my entire carpet is completely soaked and pretty much ruined because it smells like mold and 2 there are ants and Mosquitos in the car as well. (nodding my head in embarrassment) I realize then at that point that my weatherstripping needs to be replaced any ideas where I can get the weatherstripping?

my weatherstripping was shrunk and coming off the rails, and all i did was cut some of it at the lower side sections and reinstalled it and although there are breaks the water has not come back--i had one soaked (as in 2" flood) in one of my rear floorboards. luckily after the mold and drying it ended up being ok, now you'd never know the carpet was wet--they made good stuff for carpet!

as for the insects, sorry, can't help you there--i only see colonies of ants in junkyard cars full of food wrappers or junk under the rear seat like old suckers or candy

I have kept my weather seals and window seals plyable by using dielectric grease on them since new. That hasn't kept them from not sealing perfectly. I purchased weather stripping from O'Reilly that I installed immediately above the factory strip on the top half of the door frame.

I saw a past post and someone had the same problem I did (except the bugs lol) and they said remove the stripping and reinstall it starting at the top in the middle and work your way around. So I did that without cutting any of it off and it appears to have improved but it leaves a space at the bottom in the middle. They said it normal to have a space in the middle because the stripping has shrunk and to go to the junk yard and buy more stripping and cut a piece for the middle. So far it's working really well but all I'm missing is adhesive so I can keep it in place but I know where to go to buy that. And as far as my bug problem it's not as bad as I thought it was just a few ants. (lol don't judge me lol). I'll keep you posted on my progress.

I have not had to use an adhesive to hold them in place. Every now and them just push up in the corners and make sure they stay there. As for the gap at the bottom, there are no issues just leaving it there.

I suggest taking the whole interior out and taking the carpet to the car wash and hosing it down real good (the carpet only). Rinse it and let the padding and carpet dry before re-installing.

If the headliner is stock or reinstalled like stock, you should not need adhesive, just follow Matt's instructions.

If it's like the headliner I had replaced on my ole car a number of years ago, the upholstery shop wrapped the fabric around the edge of the headliner core. The extra thickness of the material wrapped around the edge of the headliner core was more than my door seals could handle and stay in place. I had to use 3M weather strip adhesive to hold the door weather stripping in place. - BC

I'm happy to report that my weatherstripping is over!!!! YAY!!!!! The adhesive did the job on the door seal way better than I though it would in fact we just had a whole lot of rain these past couple of days and in interior is completely dry. This might be the wrong thread but I'm posting this to say thank you to all who guided me through this problem. Very happy right now
