New wheels for GXP

Hello,
I'm just about done with my time over here in the Middle East, and want to get some new wheels for my GXP when I get home. I've been searching through the forums, and understand I can run a 20" wheel. I went to tirerack.com and most of the 20s that say they will fit have these specs, or very close. The wheel itself is 20x8.
Offset: 42mm
Backspacing: 6.18"
Bolt Pattern: 5-115
Rec. Tire Size:245/40-20

What is the range of tolerances for offset and backspacing? I would use their recommended tire size. Thanks!
Joe

You can get away with a little wiggle room on either side of both numbers. Half an inch or so. But remember what visual effect they will have. You don't want the tires sticking out past the fenders or tucked way in. You have to balance offset and backspace. Luckily there should be a good assortment with the appropriate specs.

I've been looking around for specs on the gxp wheel backspacing. Anyone know what the OEM measurement is?

Hey Joe, any chance of getting a front to back shot to give me an idea of the offset?

I gotta be honest, when I read:

I shuddered thinking of the awefulness that would follow.

Boy was I happy to be wrong! Those whells look GREAT on that car. Very nice choice. :hit it:

No offense, but I like the stockers better.

Looks cool. :)

Could be just me but I think the car has this "lifted" look with the 20s on there. Perhaps a lowering kit?

Any sacrifice on ride quality?

Enjoy! :)

I'm not a fan of the 'oversized 'bling!' rims with bicycle tires' look.

Too much metal, not enough rubber.

Cartoon-ish.

But your opinion is the only one that truly matters. If you like 'em, they're perfect.
