I already miss her

My dad will never understand what he started when he brought home a 2000 Bonneville for my 16th birthday..
This is how she looked when I first got her, no clear coat on the hood, rust hole under the gas tank, ugly snowflake rims and 164,000 miles I was the third owner, the man I bought her from kept a log of every time he got gas or did anything to the car.

This is right after I painted the hood.

I added a PLX scan gauge to the gauge cluster.

I tinted my gauge cluster like an STS

I miss my tinted tail lights...

I miss my tinted windows too..

Then one day 3 years and 56,000 miles later I was coming back from the Burnsville mall and I broke my pump shaft on the side of the road. I got a junk yard transmission put it in a few days later and I had no 4th gear. Lucky me I got to take the transmission back out and put a new 4th gear clutch hub in it. I also put 3.69 gears in it while I was in there. There was a Honda running around town I wanted to whoop up on.

A few months later I found a GXP and fell in love with it. I sold my car to a good friend and a member of this club.
I really miss her and hope that this new car treats me as well as my old one. Here is to many great memories in a great car.

Beautiful car, and a great story, too. You did good work!

Beautiful!!!! Dark Polo Green is one of my favorite colors on a 00+. Or Bonneville's in general! I like the 20 spokes on that color, but the swoopies just look like sex! Beautiful work on the hood! Wish I had that kind of talent for painting, my 85 wouldn't look like it does otherwise! I'd miss that car too, I almost bought a DPG 01 SSEi myself. Again, helping remove my dislike of Iowa, maybe a road trip is in order? :dontknow:

Must have been hard to let her go. I could only imagine if mine were to leave my possession.

On a better note, your buddy is still enjoying the car and you still get to see it. That must give you some satisfaction! Also, your now driving another Bonneville...sounds like a pretty decent situation to me!

Nice job on repainting the hood! Turned out nice!
