Kinda on a side note I just got my shift kit and and I'm wondering what torque converter I have. 258mm or 245mm??

You have the 258mm.
keegan, it's designed to be re-used, it's a metal frame with rubber over it. The aftermarket ones are cork or soft rubber, and hard to get sealed right. Provided yours isn't disintegrated or broken, it's fine to re-use.

the factory transpan gasket is reusable and it $50ish at the dealer... the trans filter kit that I just got for mine said to reuse the factory gasket in the directions if it was useable and provided a cork gasket just in case....

GM did it right with the transmission pan gasket. Unless you bend it in some weird angle and can't straighten it out, it should be good for many changes.

How many quarts does it usually take after a pan drop I thought it was 6 or 7. I just put 8 in and it was still reading low. Is that normal? I'm trying to figure out how much actually came out I filled the Valvoline jug all the way to the rim and a windshield washer bottle about half way full. To me that's about 6 quarts that came out. Just doesn't add up to me.

Mine took an even 8 quarts both times I changed it. I don't think 8-9 is too unusual.
