04-06 GTO Seats In A 2000+ Bonnie?

Hey everyone! I did a cursory search on this topic that yielded no results. I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on the possibility of putting front bucket seats from the 04-06 GTO in a 2000+ Bonnie.
I was sitting in my buddy's 06 goat the other day and noticed how comfortable the seats were. I didn't have a chance to measure the tracks, so has anyone else? Does anyone know how our tracks compare to those on the GTO buckets? Compared to the "buckets" on my GXP, those GTO seats seem to fit like a glove.

Even if you were able to modify them to get them to bolt in, you then wouldn't have any seat belts.

Interesting thought... I've never had much to do with a goat, and when I did, wasn't paying much attention to the seats, other than staying in them.

Crap, I forgot about the seatbelts... I wouldn't mind fabbing a bracket, but the seatbelt issue is a huge hurtle...

This is my take: You like the seats in an 06 GTO? Go buy an 06 GTO.

That would be great except:
1. I HATE the exterior styling
2. Rear-wheel drive= wintertime insurance claims
3. Funds-- I did graduate college less than a year ago...
4. I HATE the exterior styling
5. Funds
6. ... Exterior styling
I'm big on the styling of a car. That's why I like the GXP-- it really is a beautiful, understated and muscular car.
Now, if we were talking the 98-02 Firebird Formula, that would be a different story.
But, I love my GXP and I'm just trying to make it more enjoyable for everyday.

Make mine a WS6 Trans-Am please! But I agree.

couldn't you just Fab something up so the belts are on the pillar like 99% of other cars? I think the seat belt situation could easily be figured out if you have the proper tools and welding capabilities. or if your doing a more extreme build where you'd need to run a roll bar just run a racing harness and mount it to the roll bar. also the roll bar would make the car more rigid. but as 90% of members on here would say its not worth it or too much work and money for a Bonneville.

Homemade seat belts? I'm sure your insurance would just love that when you total your car...

It was a good thought, but some things should just remain as thoughts...

Yeah. I appreciate the comments but this car is something that I want to stay in really good condition, and welding a bar in there is not high on the "clean" scale. I need to keep the car clean looking in the event that I ever need to transport clients.
I value my life more than I value GTO seats in the "grandpa" mobile.
The only thing that I can think of is that there appears to be a spot where something was removed where the upper roller of the seatbelt would be behind the driver's head on the b-pillar. Did the non GXP Bonnevilles have seatbelts in those locations or were they on the seat in all models?

All 2000+ Bonnevilles have the seatbelts in the seats. They were never on the B-pillars.

They were in the seats in all Bonne's.

Sure just tack weld a piece of scrap on the pillar with a metal ring on it then just run some rope and paint it bright orange. Please tell me you see the sarcasm in that. That's. Far from what I'm talking about but somewhat useless to explain so never mind that post. So basically never do anything custom on a bonneville ever!

This is a SAFETY issue. How can anyone in good conscience tell the OP that he's fine just fabricating his own seat-belt brackets, using inner structure that's not designed for it? The OEM's spend millions of dollars in research, testing and certifications that their designs are going to work and keep you safe. This isn't something joe-schmo can spend a weekend doing in his garage and expect to be safe on the street. It's one thing if you cage the car and install 5 point harnesses, if you know what you're doing. It's another completely different thing if you try and use a structural area that isn't designed for that load and all of the sudden ask it to potentially take a TON of stress in the circumstance that the seatbelt actually has to do its job, control your body's inertia in the case of a collision.
I have NO problem with doing custom things. But telling someone on a public forum to remove one of the key safety features in his car and vastly change it? That's not what we're here for, and I cannot let it stand.

Calmn down dude im saying its an option that's it so chill out and no *shoot* its not for a joe schmo but if dude wants them bad enough those are the options that's all im saying. anything can be done on any car with proper skill and knowledge. before this turns into a faggy online bitchfest lets just drop it.

I'm just covering everyone's asses in case some kid comes on here in 6 months and reads this thread, then gets the bright idea to do what you said "sarcastically", and gets in an accident and dies. While the forum holds no responsibility for any advice given within, I'd hate to hear from his mom, or his lawyer...

Thread sum up. Can it be done? Yes. Is there a major issue, if so, what? Yes, seat belt location. Can that be taken care of? Yes. Could it be a safety issue, very much so. The rest is in the hands of whoever does it with this information being clearly stated. No need to fight guys!

Fair enough I understand that completely and there are definately some dumb asses out there that would try it. a project that I stated would need extremely good welding skills and also the knowledge of a vehicles structure and structural integrity. basically if you can't do your own oil change this is not a project for you hell if you can't even do headgaskets don't even think about it or better yet unless your able to properly build a tube chassis don't do it! ( had to clear the air lol)
