Will 20" wheels have an adverse affect on my TPMS?

I have have decided it's time for a wheel upgrade. I plan on going with a 20x8.5 rim with 245/35/R20 tires all around.
Here's a link to a tire height chart

original tire is 235/55-17 making the height 27.18" the 245/35/R20 is 26.75" will this cause a low tire pressure message on my DIC?

if it does, all you have to do is reset it once tires/wheels are on. it will now set itself for the new wheels.
But, your speedometer will give you an incorrect reading,

Agreed. Most likely it will not be tripped but if it should a one time reset will most likelyy cure.
Your speedometer will be off by about 1.6%; so when it says 60 you will really be doing 59.

thanks for the info guys. i expected it to affect the speedo that's why i chose a size close to the original OD

Braking, MPG, and performance will all be affected as well.

Be nice ed, not everybody shares your opinion of wheels. I would watch out for potholes, my 18s Have hit a few that hurt pretty bad, I imagine 20s would be worse.

1.6% accuracy isn't too bad. It's within the same realm as when people go to different tire sizes when changing rim diameters. My personal rule of thumb is to keep things less than 2.0%. 235/40/20 is much closer, your speedometer will only be 0.8% off. Not sure on tire availability in this size.
As a side note, my speedometer got more accurate when I went from 225/60/16 to 235/55/17 in the '95 SSEi. The 17's wheel/tire package was 2.1% taller (versus your 1.6% shorter), canceling out the inaccuracy from the factory (read via GPS). Be wary of rubbing if you go bigger.

Not necessarily, considering these cars came with 18's(gxp) factory. 20 isn't that big of a jump. If done tastefully with the correct size tire I could see it working.

Personally I wouldn't put black wheels on the white car, but I think we need a Photoshop for a more detailed examination.

will cause no problems at all i have been doing this for 7 years now. little tweak with hp tuners and speedo will be fine as well. yes i know my rear is sagging... lol new shocks are on and the sensor is on the way

WOW that looks sweet! and as far as my wheel choice goes, this is something i have been pondering for well over a year and is not my 1st or only wheel i think will look good on my car. If i could be convinced that i could use a 5x114.3 instead of 5x115 i would more than likely go with a 20x8.5" TSW Londrina 10 spoke gunmetal with mirror lip.
I have read that they
will fit and perform with no issues and i have read they
wont fit. I suppose i should just contact TSW Wheel.

Provided you either have the right hub diameter or a hub-centric ring, you can use 5x114.3 with no issues. A 20x8.5 might be a little wide though. Stock wheels are 7" wide.

unfortunately the aftermarket wheel choices are slim when it comes to 20x7". when searching for wheels online all sites say my rim and tire choice will fit. One uses the words. "Guaranteed to fit" but that same site says 114.3 will not fit
thanks for the hub-centric info. i have read that elsewhere as well
