yeah i got that cause i had 4 fog lights and my regular driving lights. so 6 forward lamps in all. legally you can only have 4. he might of been annoyed. that might explain when he search my car with the drug dog.

:laughing3: Wow... what about all the pre-87 cars with fogs? Those older cars had separate high/low, which by that logic is 4 forward lamps alone...

And you're supposed to try to outrun the cops and toss the crack out the window if you don't want to get searched. :booty2:

I could see excessive lighting if you had off-road lights on the roof, or A-pillar spotlights... I think they're referring to aftermarket lighting in terms of excessive-ness, whereas pre-87 cars would be equipped as such from the factory. :btruestory:

He had 6 forward facing lights projecting white light at the same time. MN law only allows 4 to be on at once.

By the way, never let the police search your car without a warrent or some actual probable cause. Fyi, denying permission is not probable cause for a search.

Regardless of whether you have anything to hide, its never a good idea to give them more power than they already have.

:stupid:

It is your right to refuse a search and demand a warrant. Unless they think you definitely have something, they won't go through the hassle. Lots of times they ask everyone in a week or w/e. Saw a guy get busted that way on Cops, cops were doing random searches and he agreed and they found his weed. If you have nothing to hide, why should they waste your time searching the car?

well i had no problem with him searching my car. He did ask permission and i said sure i got nothing inside. plus it was kind of cool seeing the dog work (i love German shepherds). i dont mind cops doing there jobs.

Do you have nothing to hide? Sure.

Did the previous owner of your car ever hide something in the vehicle you haven't found yet? Can't be sure....

Did you remove the HID yet either?

what made getting pulled over today even better. is it turned out my car has been uninsured since OCT :bluetwitch: :dontknow: . ive been giving money to my rents for my insurance every month. so the cop told me that and said i would have to impound the car. i insisted to him that ive been paying insurance on this vehicle and he talked to my rent to confirm that. LUCKILY the cop had a heart. i asked for permission to drive my car to the arbor lakes parking lot and leave it there a)so it would be off the street and not towed b) cause i couldnt drive it after the ticket cause that would land me in jail, lose of the DL, and lose of my car :sadeyz:. so my dad drove the mini van to the mall so i could take that to work (go i hate that van). long story short my family owned 5 vehicles. we could only have 4 on our insurance. so my parents opened up a seperate on for my car. they sold a car. and the insurance company never put me on to the main insurance and closed down my seperate/side insurance.

Besides LEOs asking to search the cars, a new fad in Wisconsin at least is to ask for your SSN. They are doing this so that they can intercept state tax refunds if you don't pay the fine
