I have noticed and have been pointed out by many. That after my car is shut off that there is a smell of unused gas that comes from under the hood. i took a quick glance and didnt notice and gas leaking. Any suggestions?

that's bad. I'd find where that sucker is leaking from before driving it anymore. Check the fuel line connections that connect to the rail. Run your fingers around the tubing and smell them to see if they smell like gas. See if there is a puddle under them or near the injectors. If the smell is coming from under the hood it has to be something on the fuel rail.

I have a strong feeling that is has something to do with the rear rail. and suggestions on what parts to look at for the actual cause?

Check and see if the vac line to the FPR smells like gas. it shouldn't.

The nylon section of fuel line, the last foot that isn't metal before it
connects to the fuel rail, is prone to get pinhole leaks.
You might have a hard time seeing the leak because it may only
do it when the fuel pump is running and it may just be a mist.
Check it when the engine is cold because it won't evaporate as fast
and it's safer.

The connections to the fuel rail are troublesome as already mentioned.

So after opening up the hood and taking a look i noticed that all my fuel injectors are dry except for the back left one and it smells strong of gas? what could that mean?

Leaky O-ring. Or someone didn't reinstall the fuel rail properly. Buy a set of o-rings (pack of 12) and replace the o-rings on the injectors. It's a fairly straightforward job. Just make sure to depressurize the fuel rail.

it looks to me like its just an oring seeing as only one was leaking. how would i depressurize the injector?

Vent the fuel out of the valve on the fuel rail. Just like you would a tire. It's under the black cap on the rail. Use a screwdriver AND a rag, fuel will squirt out especially if you've recently had the ignition on. If you do this, replace all 6 o-rings at the same time. The rail will have to be lifted, but not disconnected to do this. About the only thing you'll need is a 10mm socket and ratchet. Take pictures first so you get the vacuum lines hooked back up correctly, some will be in the way of lifting the rail up.

Double check/sniff that vacuum line to the FPR right after driving (about 5 minutes after you shut it off). If you smell fuel in that line also, replace the FPR at the same time.

Good news. i got the leak fixed. turns out the back left injector. right by the alternator. turns out the were the injector plugs into the fuel rail was bent. So i got a replacement fuel rail and put new o-rings on the top and bottom of all the injectors. placed the sucker back on and BAM no more leaks or gas smell. Now just to replace the blower motor and the resistor so i get my fan speeds back lol.
