LOL... reminds me of when I was 16.

How fast do you want to go in your SE? Anything over the limiter is stupid.

An SE really isn't the car to take past the limiter. Not until it's modded to within an inch of its life. At which point an SSEi would have been a better base since it has most of those mods stock. Even then, going over the limiter on public roads is either asking for license revocation or lots of property damage.

:withstupid:

If you want to go fast take it to a track. Even then you still won't exceed the speed limiter in the 1/4 mile.

Racing on public roads not only risks your life but also anyone else on the road around you. :btruestory:

Trust me, the speeding tickets, points, and extra insurance costs aren't worth your hurry or money. :poke:

Neither of them are suited for high speed runs. Going over 100 really is asking for trouble, there's a reason you'll lose your license...

Just mod it to get to speed fast. As for top speed? No. Not the car, and probably not the places to 108+ MPH runs. You have to remember, the limiter is there for a reason. I've reached mine a couple times, and trust me, even if you're 17, you get over the want for speed fast. It's not that great. All it takes is one thing to go wrong and you're eating *shoot*. Or worse, imagine if you crash into someone who was going home to their family and they die while you happily walk away from the wreck. Sorry for being morbid, but the facts are facts.

:withstupid: 130MPH is enough for me...Twice done, that's it, country backroads FTW! You want scary? Do 130 in a thirdgen V8 Trans-Am... :eek2:
Plus, if you get caught over 100 in IL now, they impound the car and you don't get to drive anymore. That's it...lol

Isn't it also perfectly possible to get charged for voluntary man-slaughter if you are going 35 MPH over? Or is that some random myth I heard? :dontknow:

IDK on that one, I could ask my Dad, he deals with it every day at work at the PD...He takes licenses all the time. :btruestory:

Wailed on my SLE once, never reached the speed limiter, and it was plenty fast... One time doing 120 in one of these cars on a back country road is one time too many...

The earlier cars didn't have any limiters. The new cars top out at 108. Still plenty fast...

not that I would suggest going that fast but make sure your suspension AND tires are in good condition. The stock tires probably aren't rated for going over 100mph anyway. Telling someone not to do something isn't going to stop them but if you must do something stupid at least don't be wreckless about it (as contradictory as that sounds :???: ).

Let me tell ya mate. After hitting 117mhp in my 96 se ill never wanna do it again. At that speed you can tell that your engine doesn't like that. Oh and there is a good chance you will blow out your radiator. Or atleast it happened to me after about 2 miles of 100+.
