Little to no heat

When I bought my 2000 Bonne SE I was told that I would need to flush the heater core in order to get heat. I have yet to do so and am unsure of how to flush the heater core. I did notice that when I checked the radiator that the previous owners had used stop leak. I am hoping that this will not create an issue with flushing the core, or make it so that I have to replace it. I have checked the tech info and I just want to make sure I do it right with out having to sink large amounts of cash in the car that I don't have.

Follow the techinfo article, and you'll be fine as far as doing in properly.

Do you know why they used stopleak? Is there a coolant leak internally at the throttle body gaskets, the UIM gaskets to the LIM, or the lower intake to the heads?
Have you verified that the coolant is up to full temperature after running a while so that the upper radiator hose is almost too hot to hold?
Have you checked them with the heater blower on high and the temp setting at HOT that the two hoses to the heater are both very warm? Or is one of them cooled down because the flow rate is slow and the water gets cooled by the air over the heater? Or is one cool because no coolant is going through the heater?

Is it actually stop leak? It could be the dex-cool mud.

Sorry to ask a silly question, but could someone tell me where these hoses are? A description would be great, of course pics are also very helpful.

Between the alternator and the firewall.

This picture shows where they attach to the tensioner. They run from there to the firewall, where they connect to the heater core.
