Some New 2000 Pics!

Post by Z-type »

Hi all! It's been a while since I've really posted anything. I mostly lurk and read and check out people's awesome cars now and again. I've found a ton of useful information on this site the more I dig around and I just wanted to thank all who have contributed to write-ups and the Techinfo section.

Anywho, this morning on the way to work I found a really nice spot to take pictures at, so I did! Fall is arriving here in Pittsburgh quickly and while this isn't the best scenery around, it gives you an idea what it's like around here. The lighting in the pictures isn't ideal, but I think you'll like the pictures either way. Thanks for looking!

This is kind of a neat picture for me. I like the emblem done up in black/wrinkle how I did it, but I also painted the 'grilles' black. They were kind of a faded grey when I got the car and they look much better nice a dark.

I always keep an indication of my Buick roots around  .

Dirty, but organized engine :) . (take no notice of the Orange Death)

As you can see in my signature, I don't have much done to the car except the usual 180 thermostat, cooler plugs, and a nice INTENSE intake. No huge future plans except clearing my headlight corners in the next week or so, transmission cooler, and if i get daring enough, a 3.6" pulley. I have a Series I L67 in my Lesabre T-type now, so I think I'll keep that as the toy and the Bonneville as the reliable daily driver it's been.

Thanks again for looking guys and gals!

1995 Jeep Cherokee Country- 200,XXX miles and running strong. 4.0L paired with a 5 speed manual. 4.5" long arm lift with 32" tires and regeared to make up for power. Best of all, shes a fire engine red!

2000 Bonneville SSEi- 145,XXX miles, bonestock for the time (don't hold your breath, it might be a long while)

Typos courtesy of LG Optimus G- yes, I do most of my trolling with my phone. Don't judge me.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate all the compliments :) . I didn't know that something so close to stock could generate so much interest :) .

SSEiMan - This is true...I'll never forget where the 3800 essentially came from. I guess I was going for a more external reminder! And I'll be honest, I have a soft spot for white cars...however, I couldn't pass up the tuxedo look of black and chrome with the dark interior :D .

Ed - $20??? Holy $20 indeed, Robin. Geez. I got the set on my Lesabre T-type at a Buick show for $10, sans keychain. I got the set for the SSEi off ebay last year (again, sans keychain) for $12. $20 is a bit much, but it's funny and cool how you can see the valve caps from a distance.

Thanks again guys! :)

Thanks Carl!

I finally came through on that little tidbit from earlier when I said I'd clear my headlights. And by a little earlier I mean like, months ago. Anyway, finished them up yesterday in about 45 minutes from taking them off to putting them back on.

Image

Then I said..."Eeeeeeh screw it I have half a day left..." and proceeded to do the tail lights and center reflector:

Image

I'm extremely happy with how it looks on a black car. Very pleased! Today once the silicone was dry I took the car to the local Squirt 'Em Off and tested for leaks and 'wash' the car. So far, so good! So the car isn't as clean as it could be but it'll do for now.

Thanks to harofreak for the write-ups on the head and tail lights.

Will drops them on the ground and they bounce back up cleared.
Clearing the headlights first time around was interesting. Those fasteners can come flying off at Mach 3.
Anyways! She looks even better! Gotta have clear corners on black and light colored cars!
Nice job! :beerchug:

For some reason that refuses to stop being a funny comment to me!
Second on the clips on the headlights, I had a near miss with one, and several pock-marks in the kitchen wall from those things! They're lethal weapons! Ok, maybe not, but still...

Thanks a ton guys! I feel the same way...looks awesome on all, but real sharp on white or black cars. I especially like the look on white cars.

Carl - I actually have considered it, but there's something about the SSEi badges...

They look pretty good where they are. Though, Ed, I think you're right. The new ones would be nice. Were they all chrome with red 'supercharged'? Add those and some GXP wheels and I'd be a happy camper! Or even the '01+ swoopie centercaps.

I agree on the badges...I like the more "classic" looks of the 00-01 badges. AFAIK, the red on the 02+ badges are overlays. All the factory ones I've seen are chrome with grayish-silver on the inner part of the letters, and red Supercharged lettering.
The "01+" caps are 01 specific, like the 00 caps are 00 specific...JFC. :) 02 went to the bent 5 wheels. :btruestory:
