Anybody have any experience on what cat to buy? the local muffler shop was trying to put a uni on and i didnt want that. I have read to many horror storys about throwing codes. i also have heard even direct fits sometime throw codes. So does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe some they have used with good luck on your own car? Thanks

The Magnaflow "Heavy Metal" line is designed to pass emissions, which shouldn't throw codes.

I used Magnaflow part number 51027 and never got the code.

magnaflow uni 51027, direct fit magnaflow 46204, or walker 16386. the 2 magnaflows are suppose to be the OEM grade catsmart that is suppose to be obdII compliant. Also the walker ultra that i listed is also suppose to work pretty good with obdII. I have narrowed it down to those

Forget the walker, get one of the Magnaflow's. It all depends on whether you want to have both sides welded in by your shop or have one side bolt to the DP, which could get tricky if the bolts are rusty.

the walker and the magnaflow are both bolt one with one side welded. the difference is about 100 bucks. 180 for the walker. 280 for the magnaflow

I just looked at my receipt and mine is actually part number 46006 which is the California OBD II compliant one. I have had it for 2 years with no issues and I paid $120 for it and welded it in myself when I did my headers.

Are the part numbers above good for SLE's and SSEi's, or just SLE's? Do they all use the same cats?

We have the same exhaust, yes. If you don't plan on modding, a 2.5" cat will be fine. Any mods at all and I HIGHLY recommend a 3" Downpipe and HF cat.
