Well back on August 3rd, I woke up and found my car vandalized, not even a week after I had a new head-unit installed in the car...
The damage is pretty severe, all the scratches are to bare metal and every single body panel is damaged. Talk about a huge
Onto the pictures:
The estimates I got were all over the place...
Estimate 1: $7200 (SF when they did their estimate was not happy about this, this place is one of their 'select' body shops..._
Estimate 2: $4800 (I ended up choosing this shop to do the work)
SF Estimate :$5440, and the amount that would total is is $5500.... Talk about close...

That is retarded that people would do it. Make anybody mad lately, or is it completely random?

It is random, the police said they're has been a string of vandalizing going on, several people have had windows blown out, someones barn had been torched as well as a pickup truck. The police had caught the group of 5 kids doing this ranging from 12-18. They cannot pin my car on them though... I still consider myself lucky compared to the guy that had his truck torched.

There is only one word for people that do this kind of thing, not repeatable on a public forum, but it begins with c.
I hope those responsible for this trail of destruction are caught.

So sorry for you. This is what happend when <some sex> forbid bodily punishment. And that silly thing that under a certain age, don't get any punishment at all. Or that under 18 years olds can stay out alone after 9 pm ... or that .. well, the society lays as they make their bed.

When I was a kid you didn't screw with other peoples cars. You screwed with them but never their cars.
How *f* stupid is that.
I guess on the bright side you'll have a nice new paint job that looks great.

That is such a horrible thing to wake up to...
I don't even know how I would react if that happened to me, closest was when my 94 LeSabre was backed into by our neighbor in the morning... but that was nothing compared to the rest of the body damage that thing had

Ouchhh. I would probably go insane if someone did that to my car. Especially not knowing who could have done it. It's sad that the cops can't string the kids to it.

The NADA value of my car is ~$6625, because even though the car has 105K miles it is still below industry average.
State Farm will repair any damaged car up to 80% of the car's value, which in my case the limit is $5500, the amount of damage was $5444.70. So even though the claim had to go through the 'total loss' division, it is still fixable.
And an update about the punks that did this, the police called and said that even though the kids are NOT confessing to any of the minor car vandalism (Several cars had windows blown out as well as my car being keyed)
However, they have confessed to torching a barn that was worth well over $100k as well as torching a BRAND NEW Ford Super Duty that was worth close to $50k.
So the police have decided to also charge them with all the cars including mine because the police have fingerprint evidence that they had messed with the other cars, there unfortunately was NO useable fingerprints on mine because it had rained overnite and the car was parked outside.
And I am stuck in a 2010 Chrysler Sebring for the next week and a half.
